Biography

Chloe Langford is a Lecturer in Medical Education at the University of Southampton, where she coordinates communication skills teaching for undergraduate medical programmes and co-leads the year Foundations in Medicine module. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Linguistics and a Master's Degree in Cross-Cultural Communication. After completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, she taught secondary-level English before earning her PhD in Medical Education from the University of Southampton. Chloe is a member of the UK Council on Clinical Communication and serves on the Athena Swan committee. Her research primarily focuses on the medical student experience, with particular attention to Impostor Syndrome and the sense of belonging among students from underrepresented backgrounds. She is also a member of the Medical Education Research Group (MERG) and the Medical Education Widening Participation Research Group.
