Biography

Chloe Thurston is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Northwestern University and a Faculty Fellow at the Institute for Policy Research. Her research focuses on American Political Development, Political Economy, and Social Policy, particularly examining how public policy shapes market inequalities along the lines of race and gender. Thurston’s academic journey began with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Johns Hopkins University followed by a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. In 2019-2020, she was a member of the School of Social Sciences at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
