Dr. Chong Li

Biography

Chong Li received his MSc degree with distinction in Communications Engineering from the University of Manchester in 2007, followed by a PhD in Terahertz Monolithic Oscillators Integrated Circuits from the University of Glasgow in 2012. He began his academic career as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Glasgow, focusing on terahertz imaging systems. In January 2014, he joined the National Physical Laboratory as a Higher Research Scientist, where he led research on antennas, over-the-air (OTA) testing, and ultrafast calibration services. He returned to the University of Glasgow in August 2017 as a Lecturer, founding the Microwave Terahertz Electronics (MaTE) group, and was promoted to Professor of Microwave Engineering in August 2023. His research interests include III-V semiconductor devices and their modeling, fabrication, and characterization, along with wireless communications and energy harvesting technologies. He has been recognized as an Associate Editor for the Royal Society Open Science and has served in various prominent roles within international conferences and organizations in the microwave engineering field.
