Biography

Chongwu Zhou is a full professor in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC). He earned his Bachelor's degree in Special Class Gifted Young from the University of Science & Technology of China and a Doctoral degree in Physics from Yale University. Dr. Zhou has previously held positions as an Associate Professor from 2006 to 2011 and an Assistant Professor from 2000 to 2006 at USC. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Yale University in 1999 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University from 1998 to 2000. With 161 journal publications and a significant h-index of 55, his work has been recognized in prestigious journals such as Science and Scientific American. His research interests include carbon nanotubes, nanowires, graphene, bionanotechnology, and energy nanotechnology. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology and has received several prestigious awards including the NSF CAREER Award, NASA TGIR Award, and the USC Junior Faculty Research Award.
