Choon Siew Eng is an Associate Professor at the Clinical School, Monash University Malaysia, and a senior consultant dermatologist at Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. He received his medical degree from the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur and later became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in London. Dr. Eng completed his postgraduate training in General Medicine and pursued dermatology training through a public service scholarship, culminating in a fellowship in dermatopathology at St. John’s Institute of Dermatology in London, UK. He was elected as a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London, in 2003. Dr. Eng is a founding member of the Asian Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and is an active member of both the Malaysian Society of Dermatology and the Malaysian Medical Association. He has served as a councilor for the International Psoriasis Council since 2017 and is currently a board member of the IPC and the Malaysian Skin Foundation. His main research focus is on chronic inflammatory skin diseases, particularly atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, including pustular psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa. Additionally, Dr. Eng has interests in cutaneous adverse drug reactions and contributes to the field as an associate editor of Experimental Dermatology.
