Biography

Chrianna Bharat is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, University of New South Wales, Sydney. She specializes as an applied biostatistician and was awarded her PhD in 2023. Her doctoral research demonstrated the utility of person-level data linkage and innovative analytical methods to generate real-world evidence regarding the outcomes of prescribed medicines for individuals with opioid dependence. Currently, Chrianna's research involves a range of epidemiological studies utilizing population-linked data, focusing on individuals with a history of drug dependence and exposure to incarceration, as well as the safety and effectiveness of pharmaceutical medicines. She is engaged in post-market surveillance and the implementation and evaluation of systematic reviews of existing and novel research methodologies. Chrianna is also a co-lead for the Knowledge Translation portfolio at the NHMRC Medicines Intelligence Centre of Research Excellence and serves as an Editorial Board Member for the International Journal of Drug Policy, along with being the Deputy Statistics Methodology Editor for the journal Addiction. She is available for supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
