Biography

Chris Bouchard is a Senior Lecturer in Physics & Astronomy at the University of Glasgow. His research applies techniques from lattice field theory to study phenomenologically interesting processes in nuclear and particle physics. In particle physics, he studies rare semileptonic decays of mesons and neutral meson mixing, focusing on increasing scrutiny to compare quark flavor-changing interactions with Standard Model expectations to improve chances of discovering new physics. His interests in nuclear physics include developing new techniques for calculating nucleon matrix elements that are relevant for understanding the structure of nucleons. Improved determinations of these matrix elements address a wide range of phenomenologically interesting problems, including the proton charge radius, direct searches for dark matter, and neutrino physics.
