Biography

Chris Braddock studied Chemistry at St Peter's College, Oxford, and graduated with honors in 1992. He worked with John Brown, FRS, and obtained his doctorate in January 1996. Initially appointed as a Fixed-Term Lecturer at Imperial College London, he worked in Professor Tony Barrett's laboratories. In October 1998, he was appointed as a Lecturer in the newly created Synthesis section of the Department of Chemistry, where he initiated independent research. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2005, Reader in 2008, and ultimately became a Professor of Organic Chemistry in 2015. He leads a research group focusing on various aspects of organic synthesis and chemistry.
