Biography

Chris Davis is a Research Fellow in Virology at the University of Glasgow, where his work centers on emerging viral infections that pose significant threats to human and animal health. His research focuses on the increased risk of transmission due to global travel, climate change, and ecosystem alterations. Davis employs next-generation sequencing (NGS) to study viruses in both East and West Africa, particularly in Uganda and the UK. His research includes respiratory viruses, COVID-19, Acute Hepatitis C virus (HCV), and emerging viruses such as Ebola, MPXV, as well as febrile viruses like Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) and Lassa fever.
