I’m Assistant Professor in the Department of Intelligent Systems at Tilburg University and part of the Center for Cognitive Science & Artificial Intelligence. My research focuses on the algorithmic monitoring and auditing of intelligent systems, particularly their harmful effects on individuals' lives. I analyze how these systems can uncover personal information, monitor behavioral changes, subtly restrict information exposure, and lead to unfair treatment. I defended my dissertation on user-centered security in natural language processing in January 2023, supervised by prominent scholars in the field. Additionally, I serve as a member of the faculty council and chair the program committee for the Data Science Society. I work on diverse topics within natural language processing, including adversarial stylometry, cyberbullying detection, data augmentation, and machine translation, and I am committed to enhancing the teaching of these subjects through practical applications and innovative courses.
