Dr. Chris Evans

Biography

Emeritus Professor Chris Evans specializes in comparative taxation, capital wealth taxation, tax law administration, and tax policy reform. He heads the Australian School of Taxation (Atax) and has conducted extensive research and published works in taxation. Chris obtained his PhD from the University of New South Wales, focusing on the comparative study of operating costs in taxing capital gains. He holds a master's degree in European Political Integration from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor’s Honours degree in Economics from the University of London. His academic contributions include co-authoring 'Australian Taxation Law' and serving as General Editor for 'Australian Tax Review'. He has also been involved with various governmental and professional committee panels in Australia and internationally. Chris's past positions include appointments as International Research Fellow at Oxford University and Senior Research Fellow at Monash University.
