Chris is a senior partner at the law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP, instrumental in developing the firm's industry-leading global investment funds practice over the decades. He leads private equity fund formation matters for large middle-market buyouts, growth equity, venture, debt, secondary, technology, and real estate funds. Chris advises private equity sponsor clients on a wide variety of related matters such as succession planning, key person events, spin-outs, strategic investments in fund management companies, conflict resolution, co-investments, and secondary transactions involving internal manager operations. In addition to his investment funds work, Chris oversees mergers and acquisitions, financing, securities, intellectual property, litigation, restructuring, and tax matters for a wide range of private and public company clients. Before joining Kirkland & Ellis, Chris was a certified public accountant at Price Waterhouse in New York. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, where he sits on the Advisory Board. At Saïd Business School, Chris is involved in teaching the leading global executive education Private Equity Programme.
