Chris graduated with a 1st Class MPharm degree from Cardiff University in 2002. He undertook his PhD studies investigating the mechanistic aspects of macromolecule endocytosis and trafficking in lung epithelium. In 2007, Chris assumed a post-doctoral position on an EPSRC-funded Nanomedicine Platform Grant at Cardiff University, where he led an interdisciplinary research group focused on designing and synthesizing novel nanomedicines for enhanced pulmonary macromolecule delivery. He subsequently worked with scientists at the Defence & Science Technology Laboratory (Porton, UK) on a collaborative project investigating the bioavailability of antimicrobial peptides delivered to the intact lung. From 2010 to 2020, Chris was a Lecturer in Drug Delivery at the University of East Anglia, before becoming an Associate Professor in the same field from 2020 to 2022. He joined University College London in 2022 and currently leads a research group that aims to develop experimental therapeutics in the fields of cancer and inflammation, with a strong focus on using targeted delivery to treat diseases affecting the skin and lungs.
