Dr. Chris Russill

Biography

Chris Russill is an Associate Professor and Academic Director of Re.Climate at Carleton University, where he specializes in climate communication and public engagement. His current research addresses how information about climate change is transformed and miscommunicated in the media landscape, particularly during crises involving disinformation. He is widely recognized as a commentator on various media platforms, including Canadian Press, CBC, and CTV News. Russill has contributed to significant publications such as 'Critical Approaches to Climate Change Civic Action' and has edited works on media related to climate change and technology. His teaching focuses on Climate Change and Communication, and he has developed the Collaborative Specialization in Climate Change. Chris has a Ph.D. in communication from Penn State and has worked as an external member at the University of Toronto's Institute of Environment, Conservation and Sustainability.
