Biography

Chris Song’s research falls at the intersection of translation studies, modern Chinese literature, and Hong Kong culture, with a focus on Chinese anthologies of American poetry. His scholarly research and creative publications have secured funding from sources such as the Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada for his project "Chinese Translation of Canadian Indigenous Literature." Song serves as the managing editor of Babel: International Journal of Translation published by John Benjamins. He co-edited a forthcoming volume, the Bloomsbury Handbook of Modern Chinese Literature and Translation, which is scheduled for release in 2024. In addition, he has published numerous volumes on Chinese-English literary translation and has substantial experience translating for international business projects, museums, galleries, and cultural festivals. His research and teaching efforts are featured on the University of Toronto's DiscoverResearch platform.
