Dr. Chris Streeter

Biography

Chris C. Streeter, MD, is an Emeritus Associate Professor at Boston University in the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Streeter specializes in Psychiatry, with a robust background in Alcohol Dependence, Cocaine Dependence, and Neuropsychiatry. He holds an MD from Ohio State University and a BS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests focus on the effects of yoga and complementary approaches to mental health, particularly in depression and substance use disorders, utilizing advanced imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance spectroscopy and fMRI. Dr. Streeter has held significant roles in various funded research projects, including those by the National Institutes of Health, demonstrating his commitment to advancing knowledge in psychiatric treatment. He has authored numerous publications and continues to act as a mentor for graduate students in the field of Graduate Medical Sciences at Boston University.
