Dr. Christer Dahlin

Biography

Christer Johan Sturesson Dahlin is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, with a rich background in implant treatment and associated research. He has over twenty-five years of experience in research related to implant treatments and is considered a pioneer in the development of the Guided Bone Regeneration concept. With a previous position as a Professor in Oral Surgery and a senior consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at NÄL Medical Center Hospital in Trollhättan, Sweden, he has an extensive clinical and academic experience. He has also served as a Research Fellow at the University of Florida and was the founding program director for Oral Implantology at the European University in the UAE. In addition to these roles, Professor Dahlin participates actively as a member of the executive board of the Osteology Foundation and holds editorial positions in journals pertaining to the field of dental biomaterials. He is a recognized figure in international academic circles, often traveling to lecture and conduct research on implant-related topics. Throughout his career, he has published numerous articles and textbooks covering various subjects in the field of dentistry and oral surgery.
