Biography

Christi K. Madsen is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University. She received her Ph.D. from Rutgers University in 1996, an M.S. from Stanford University in 1987, and a B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986. Her research interests include photonic signal processing, integrated optics, adaptive optical filters, microwave photonics, polarization optics, optical ring resonators, and high-speed optical signals. Madsen has been recognized as a Distinguished Lecturer by IEEE LEOS from 2004 to 2005 and has been awarded Fellow status by the Optical Society of America. Additionally, she is a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories and was named a Texas A&M Engineering Faculty Fellow in 2007. Madsen's contributions to the field have made a significant impact in the areas of optics and photonics, and she remains actively engaged in teaching and research at her institution.
