Dr. Christian Armbrüster

Biography

Christian Armbrüster is a full professor at the Fachbereich Rechtswissenschaft of Freie Universität Berlin, specializing in Civil Law, Commercial and Corporate Law, Private Insurance Law, and International Private Law. He completed his law studies at the University of Mainz and the University of Geneva, and he has held various prestigious academic positions, including a professorship at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg. His research focused on the protection of liability interests in property insurance and corporate law, with significant contributions to the fields of insurance contract law and European insurance law. He has held guest professorships in Paris, Rome, and London and has been involved in numerous research cooperations and projects. Over the years, he has been a member of various academic committees and panels, contributing to discussions on insurance law and its implications on social welfare. He has published extensively in his area of expertise and is recognized for his work on the general part of the German Civil Code and private insurance law.
