Dr. Christian Capitini

Biography

Christian Capitini is a tenured professor and chief of the Division of Hematology, Oncology, Transplant, and Cellular Therapy at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He has received numerous awards for his clinical research contributions, including the Gerard B. Odell Research Award and the Outstanding New Member Science Award from the Society for Pediatric Research. Dr. Capitini serves as the acting director of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center and is the director of clinical innovation for the Forward BIO Institute. He is a nationally recognized expert in pediatric hematology and oncology, particularly in Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy programs. His research focuses on the development of cell-based immunotherapies, particularly natural killer (NK) cells and CAR T cells, for treating pediatric solid tumors such as neuroblastoma and osteosarcoma. Dr. Capitini is also a principal investigator in several multicenter trials aiming to improve treatment outcomes for relapsed refractory B cell leukemia and neuroblastoma.
