Biography

Christian Dustmann is a Professor of Economics at University College London (UCL) and an Honorary Professor at Humboldt University Berlin. He is the Director of the Rockwool Foundation Berlin Institute for the Economy of Future Work (RFBerlin) and the founding Director of the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (CReAM). He served as President of the Asian Australasian Society of Labour Economics (AASLE) from 2017 to 2021 and has held leadership roles in the European Association of Labour Economists (EALE) and the European Society of Population Economics (ESPE). Elected as a Fellow of several prestigious academies, including the British Academy and the German Academy of Sciences, he has received multiple awards for his significant contributions to economic research and policy. His work focuses on a range of topics including migration, the economics of education, economics of crime, social networks, technology, income mobility, wage dynamics, and inequality. He has been a visiting professor at several leading universities in the United States, including UC Berkeley, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale. Furthermore, he regularly advises governmental and international organizations on crucial policy matters.
