Dr. Christian Freund

Biography

Christian Freund is a full professor of Biochemistry at Freie Universität Berlin, leading the Laboratory of Protein Biochemistry. His research concentrates on the molecular mechanisms of antigen processing and presentation via MHC class II molecules, involving scaffolding proteins and their roles in coordinating intracellular signaling in T cells. The Freund Group employs techniques in protein engineering, NMR spectroscopy, and structural biochemistry to dissect protein interactions and their influence on adaptive immune responses.
