Biography

Christian Gigault is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Ottawa. His previous research interests have included the characterization of the thermal, mechanical, and optical properties of metallic polymer thin films, as well as the development of components for fiber optic telecommunication networks. He has collaborated with the Institute National Measurement Standards at the National Research Council on the development of atomic time standards, notably Canada’s “Cesium Fountain” clock. In addition to his research, Dr. Gigault has been actively involved in teaching and developing material physics courses. He collaborates with fellow scientists in the physics department, focusing on experimental biophysics. His current research interests include Experimental Biophysics, Micro-fluidic Thin Films, Polymers, Fiberoptic Telecommunications, and Atomic Time Standards.
