Biography

J. Christian Greer is a lecturer in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University with a scholarly focus on Religious Studies, particularly psychedelics and their cultural implications. He holds an MDiv from Harvard Divinity School and a cum laude PhD in Western Esotericism from the University of Amsterdam. His forthcoming book, "Angelheaded Hipsters: Psychedelic Militancy in Nineteen Eighties North America," published by Oxford University Press, examines the development of fanzine networks related to psychedelic culture during the late Cold War era. Dr. Greer has taught at prestigious institutions such as Harvard and Yale, and continues to contribute to the academic study of esotericism and psychedelics through various educational initiatives, including summer courses at the University of Amsterdam.
