Biography

Christian Louter is a Professor of Structural Design & Building Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Geosciences, TU Delft. He holds a PhD from TU Delft on the topic of Structural Glass and has previously worked at EPFL, TU Dresden, before rejoining TU Delft in 2022. His research and teaching activities focus on the development of novel methods and strategies for the design and construction of safe, smart, and sustainable structures. Christian’s research includes thematic areas such as Structural Safety, Resilience & Forensics, Digital Design & Production, and Sustainable Design & Construction. He has more than 15 years of research experience in the field of glass structures. Christian is also the organizer of the international Challenging Glass Conference series and serves as Editor-in-Chief for the journal Glass Structures & Engineering. His commitment to advancing the field is also evident through his editorial work on the Architecture, Structures, and Construction journal, and his involvement in international committees.
