Biography

Christian Müller is a Full Professor in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Chalmers University. He has made significant contributions to the field, particularly in the areas of physical chemistry of organic semiconductors and polymer blends. His research group develops innovative plastic materials for applications in wearable electronics and energy technologies, including organic solar cells and thermoelectrics. Over his career, Müller has published more than 180 research papers and authored three book chapters. Additionally, he is a co-inventor on over 20 patents and patent applications. He has been recognized for his research excellence with grants such as the ERC Consolidator Grant in 2017 and the ERC Starting Grant in 2014. Moreover, he was named Wallenberg Fellow in 2021 and received the ETH medal for his academic achievements. Müller completed his doctoral studies in Materials Science at ETH Zurich in 2008 and holds a master's degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University. His previous academic appointments include a role as an Assistant Associate Professor at Chalmers from 2012 to 2017 and a research fellowship at the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona, along with a post-doctoral position at Linköping University.
