Biography

Christian Ottmann is an Associate Professor in Molecular Cell Structural Biology at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on small-molecule modulation of Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs) with a special emphasis on the stabilization of 14-3-3 adapter protein PPIs. He has been involved in early drug discovery projects in the pharmaceutical industry, targeting diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and cystic fibrosis. Ottmann coordinates various European training networks and partnerships aimed at advancing research in this area. He holds a diploma in Biology from Ruhr-University Bochum and obtained his PhD from Eberhard-Karls-University Tübingen, graduating summa cum laude. Following this, he founded AmbAgon Technology and later became a group leader at the Chemical Genomics Centre of the Max Planck Society. In recognition of his contributions to the field, he has received multiple awards, including the Innovation Award from the Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry community and the Young Chemical Biologist Award from the International Chemical Biology Society.
