Biography

Christian Dyogi Phillips is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Southern California. His research focuses on the intersection of race, gender, and immigration within American politics. Phillips is currently working on a book manuscript titled 'Run: Race, Gender, Immigration, American Elections,' which examines how growing immigrant communities are altering the roles that race and gender play in American electoral politics and the concept of descriptive representation. His ongoing research includes an analysis of substantive representation by elected officials of immigrant communities, highlighting the complexities and nuances of these intersections in contemporary political contexts.
