Biography

Christian Stetter is a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Systems Science at ETH Zurich. He completed his doctoral studies at the Technical University of Munich, earning a PhD in Agricultural Production and Resource Economics in December 2022, with a thesis focused on the economic implications of agricultural production in the context of environmental change, which he completed with summa cum laude honors. Prior to his doctoral studies, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Hohenheim. His research interests lie in the intersection of econometrics and machine learning, particularly within the scope of analyzing and addressing complex issues in agriculture. This includes a focus on climate resilience, land-use dynamics, and the effectiveness of agricultural policy. He has been a postdoctoral researcher in the AECP group at ETH Zurich since 2022 and has previously served as a junior researcher and doctoral student.
