Biography

Christian Stoltenberg is an Associate Professor at the University of Amsterdam and a Research Fellow at the Tinbergen Institute. He has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam from 2008 to 2014 and completed his Ph.D. at Humboldt-University Berlin under the supervision of Harald Uhlig from 2003 to 2009. Stoltenberg has also been a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. His research primarily focuses on Macroeconomic Monetary Theory and Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Models, investigating how individual expectations impact economic behavior, particularly in relation to household consumption-saving decisions and the private unemployment insurance market. He is involved in teaching advanced topics in macroeconomics and is organizing the Amsterdam edition of the Theories and Methods in Macro Conference in 2024.
