Biography

Christian Thomann is an Associate Professor in Corporate Finance at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). He has served as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Swedish House Finance (SHoF) and is an affiliated researcher at the MISUM. His research interests focus on corporate responses to carbon taxes, environmental policy, technical change, and risk management in insurance. Thomann has held the position of senior advisor in the tax customs department at the Swedish Ministry of Finance from 2010 to 2022 and served as the vice chair of the OECD's working party on tax policy analysis from 2017 to 2021. He is currently a member of the Nordic Tax Research Council (NSFR). His work has been published in reputable journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Risk and Insurance, and the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization. He is actively involved in research projects supported by grants from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation, the Jan Wallanders and Tom Hedelius Foundation, and Trafikverket Digital Futures in City Stockholm.
