Christiane Reitz is a medical doctor and genetic epidemiologist at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her research primarily focuses on the identification of genetic and non-genetic factors that contribute to Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal lobar degeneration, as well as the structural and functional changes in the brain associated with these conditions. She is involved in a number of gene mapping and genetic epidemiology projects, along with population-based studies that investigate Alzheimer's disease, vascular cognitive impairment, cerebrovascular disease, and aging traits. Reitz has received various honors including the AFAR Paul Beeson Physician Faculty Scholar in Aging Research Award and the Columbia Psychiatric-Neurological Epidemiology Early Career Award. Additionally, she is a fellow of the American Society of Human Genetics and the American Neurological Association.
