Montreal native Christiane Riel is recognized for her beautiful voice, generous interpretations, and dramatic prowess as a singing actress. She performed demanding roles in soprano repertoire, portraying heroines in works by Puccini, Verdi, and within the French romantic repertoire throughout her career. Notably, she made her triumphant debut as Antonia in 'Les Contes d'Hoffmann' with the Canadian Opera Company, where she gained attention for stepping in on short notice to perform the role of Elisabeth in Verdi's 'Don Carlos.' Her international career includes performances in Canada, the United States, and Australia, portraying characters such as Countess in 'Le Nozze di Figaro,' Donna Elvira in 'Don Giovanni,' Micaëla in 'Carmen,' and Desdemona in 'Otello.'
