Dr. Christie Lech

Biography

Dr. Christie Lech is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Emergency Medicine at Cornell University. Her research interests are focused on improving education and training in emergency medicine through innovative teaching methodologies. She emphasizes adaptive methods and cognitive apprenticeship models in her teaching, aiming to elevate workplace learning among residents. Dr. Lech has contributed to various scholarly articles exploring critical topics such as renal artery aneurysm rupture and workplace violence among emergency medicine residents. Her efforts also extend to evaluating interdisciplinary debriefing programs that utilize design-based research approaches. Dr. Lech holds a Medical Doctorate from New York Medical College and a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College. She is currently involved as a co-investigator in the evaluation of emergency medicine training programs at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, aiming to enhance emergency medicine education on a broader scale.
