Christina Bain received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in History of Art from Syracuse University in 1986, and her Master of Science degree in Art Education in 1989. She earned her PhD in Art Education from the University of Georgia in 2001. Dr. Bain is currently an Associate Professor in the Art Education Department at the University of Texas at Austin, where she also serves as the Assistant Chair and Graduate Advisor. Her topics of interest include teacher identity development, curricular development, technology integration, and arts integration. Dr. Bain is the author of the book "Ethical Decision-Making in Art Education" and has numerous publications in esteemed journals such as Studies in Art Education and Journal of Art Education. Over the past decade, she has conducted more than 50 presentations at various national conferences. Dr. Bain has been recognized with several awards, including the Regents Outstanding Teacher Award in 2015, and the Texas Art Educator of the Year Award in 2011.
