Biography

Christina Eckes is a professor of European law at the University of Amsterdam and director of the Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance (ACELG). Her research primarily focuses on strategic climate litigation and its consequences on the democratic process within a complex legal landscape in Europe. She has authored significant publications regarding climate litigation, including the widely recognized monograph 'EU Powers Under External Pressure – EU’s External Actions Alter Internal Structures' published by Oxford University Press in 2019.
