Biography

Christina Pagel has a solid academic background in mathematics and physics, holding an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a PhD in space physics. She transitioned into operational research, focusing on applied health care, after several years as a post-doctoral physicist in Boston. In late 2005, she joined the Clinical Operational Research Unit (CORU) at University College London, initially as a post-doctoral research fellow, and became the Director in October 2018. She has been actively involved in critical care units at Great Ormond Street Hospital and is a former Vice President of the UK Operational Research Society and an elected Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
