Dr. Christine Ament

Biography

Christine Ament is a Clinical Associate Professor at Boston University's Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, where she has developed a significant focus on medical education and residency training in Ophthalmology. After graduating summa cum laude from Harvard College in 1997, she earned her MD from Harvard Medical School in 2002. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in 2006 and subsequently underwent a cornea fellowship at Boston Medical Center. Her academic career has been characterized by a commitment to resident education, where she serves as the Assistant Ophthalmology Program Director overseeing the educational curriculum for residents. Over her career, Dr. Ament has published more than twenty-five original articles, abstracts, and presentations, and she has edited a textbook on cataract surgery. She is an active board member of Codman Square Health Center and has contributed to the Harvard Medical School Medical Education Committee. Dr. Ament is multilingual, speaking Spanish, intermediate Portuguese, and basic Haitian Creole, and she is devoted to themes of medical education and immigrant health.
