Dr. Christine Barron

Biography

Christine Barron, MD, serves as the Division Director at the Lawrence Aubin Sr. Child Protection Center and Associate Fellowship Program Director in Child Abuse Pediatrics at Hasbro Children's Hospital. As a professor in Pediatrics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, she is board certified in general pediatrics and child abuse pediatrics. Her professional activities include direct patient care, teaching, and conducting research focused on forms of child maltreatment, including child sexual abuse and domestic minor sex trafficking. Barron's scholarly work particularly centers on trauma-informed care and comprehensive medical evaluations regarding child maltreatment. With a medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, she completed her pediatrics residency and child abuse pediatrics fellowship at the Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children's Hospital. Her commitment to education and mentorship is evident in her numerous teaching awards and involvement in training future healthcare providers.
