Dr. Christine Bolus Reichert

Biography

Christine Bolus-Reichert teaches a variety of courses in nineteenth-century British literature and intellectual history. She earned her Ph.D. in English Comparative Literature from Indiana University. Christine has worked for years as a book review editor for Victorian Studies and currently maintains a relationship with this flagship journal as a reviewer and bibliographer. She cares deeply about the aesthetics of everyday life, and her articles have appeared in Romanticism, Nineteenth Century Prose, Studies in Novel, and ELT: English Literature Transition from 1880-1920. Her book, The Age of Eclecticism: Literature and Culture in Britain, 1815-1885, was published in 2009 by Ohio State University Press. Currently, she is writing about the relationship between romance and aestheticism in the 1890s, as well as the persistence of Victorian romance forms into the twentieth century.
