Dr. Christine Ceci

Biography

Christine Ceci is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta, specializing in philosophical nursing research. She has a robust academic background with a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the University of Victoria and a PhD in Nursing from the University of Calgary. Her research program focuses on the empirical and theoretical aspects of home care practices for frail older adults. Ceci's work includes a significant field study on home care case management, which has resulted in a series of authored and co-authored papers that contribute to the knowledge development in the field and advance the theoretical understanding of supportive home care for older people. She has published her findings in various prestigious journals such as Sociology of Health & Illness and Nursing Philosophy and has co-edited an influential book on nursing philosophy. In addition, she teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses, emphasizing the integration of diverse philosophical perspectives in nursing practice. The methodological approaches she employs in her research include ethnography, case study research, and philosophical analysis.
