Biography

Christine Clavien is a philosopher of science and ethics. She completed her thesis on evolutionary ethics in joint supervision between the Universities of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and Paris, followed by a post-doctorate at Columbia University in New York. She worked as a first assistant and then as a teaching assistant at the Department of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Lausanne before joining the Institute of Ethics, History, and Humanities at the University of Geneva. Currently, she is a member of the National Ethics Commission in the field of human medicine (CNE) and the national working group on "Advance Planning in Health". She leads the research group on "Ethics and Science."
