Christine Duff completed her BA and MA at the University of Victoria and undertook doctoral studies at the University of Toronto under the direction of Frederick Ivor Case, earning her PhD in 2003. She joined the French Department at Carleton University that same year. Her principal areas of interest include the literatures of the French Caribbean and Africa, with a specific focus on women’s writing. In recent years, she has focused on the writing of members of the Haitian diaspora in Quebec, as well as vodou mythology and intertextuality. Duff currently divides her time between the French Department and the Institute of African Studies. Her published works include books and articles in academic journals, exploring themes such as postcolonial literary theory and the literary representation of psychic processes.
