Biography

Christine Evers is an Associate Professor of Computer Science specializing in Machine Listening. Her research is located at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and acoustic signal processing. She is currently the Principal Investigator for the EPSRC-funded project "Active AudiTiOn Robots (ActivATOR)" and serves as a Co-Investigator for the EPSRC-funded project "Challenges in Immersive Audio Technology (CIAT)". Christine is also affiliated with the UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Hub and the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Machine Intelligence for Nano-Electronic Devices Systems (MINDS). Before joining the University of Southampton, she was awarded an EPSRC Fellowship to advance her work on "Acoustic Signal Processing for Scene Analysis in Socially Assistive Robots" at Imperial College London. Her previous experience includes a role as a research associate on the FP7 project "Embodied Audition Robots" at Imperial College and working as a senior systems engineer at Selex ES in Edinburgh, UK. Christine received her PhD in statistical signal processing from the University of Edinburgh, UK.
