Biography

Christine M Farrell is an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (BSDH) in 1981 from the University of Michigan Dental Hygiene Program and later earned a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Michigan, Flint in 2006. After beginning her career with the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, she became the Oral Health Program Director, overseeing statewide oral health care public health education programs. Since joining the public health sector in 1988, she played a significant role in the Medicaid Program. Christine has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Michigan since 2010, where she integrates her public health background with education. Active at local, state, and national levels within dental hygiene, she has served as president of the Michigan Dental Hygienists’ Association and is a founding member and national chair of the Medicaid/CHIP State Dental Association. Additionally, she chairs the Council on Public Health at the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) and currently serves as the President of the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors (ASTDD).
