Dr. Christine Gilbert

Biography

Christine Gilbert is an Associate Professor at the School of Accounting, Université Laval. She holds a Ph.D. from York University and is a certified public accountant. Her research interests focus on feminist philosophy, social oppression, marginalization, and their connections to accounting practices and monetary systems. She evaluates how public policies impact social movements and democracy. Gilbert engages in teaching management accounting and has been involved in various research activities, exploring the intersection of accounting and neoliberalism. She participates in international seminars and conferences, contributing to the academic community by being part of thesis juries and editorial boards. She has garnered recognition for her contributions to the field, receiving the Socrate Award for her research excellence. Gilbert actively promotes knowledge through various platforms, emphasizing critical perspectives on accounting.
