Biography

Christine Kaufmann has been a professor of constitutional, administrative, and international law at the University of Zurich since September 1, 2003, after serving as an assistant professor starting on October 1, 2002. Before her appointment at Zurich, she worked for the Swiss National Bank from 1991 to 2000, where she ultimately served as the Director of Human Resources. She also held the position of Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan Law School and was Director of Legal Research at the World Trade Institute at the University of Bern. In 2009, she initiated the establishment of the University of Zurich's Centre of Competence for Human Rights and has been leading it as chair of the management committee. Since 2019, she has chaired the OECD Working Party on Responsible Business Conduct.
