Biography

Christine Ngaruiya, MD, MSc, DTM&H, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University and the Director of the Stanford EM International Global Population Health Section. She completed her Master of Science and Diploma in Tropical Medicine and International Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has a fellowship in Global Health International Emergency Medicine from Yale University. Her research focuses on noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), community-based participatory research, and implementation science, particularly related to health in Africa. Ngaruiya has received numerous awards for her contributions to emergency medicine and global health, recognizing her leadership and excellence in clinical care and community involvement. She has been involved with various national and international panels and committees related to global health and has served in leadership roles within the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine and the Consortium of Universities for Global Health. Her work has received funding from prestigious organizations such as NIH, the Gates Foundation, and the World Bank. She is an advocate for social entrepreneurship and has been featured in several publications discussing NCDs and public health policy.
