Dr. Christine Skytt Larsen

Biography

Christine Benna Skytt-Larsen is an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in socio-economic geography. Her research focuses on mapping, understanding, and explaining the dynamics that produce and reproduce socio-economic inequality across various scales and contexts. She primarily investigates social geography, inequality, networks, equity, and social mobility. Christine's work also examines social infrastructure, everyday life, urban transformations, and the challenges faced by deprived neighborhoods in terms of social integration and common spaces. She has experience in teaching human geography, including field courses on dynamics in city regions and urban-rural transformations. Her academic qualifications include a PhD in Geography from the University of Copenhagen, where her dissertation explored the knowledge economy's impact on socio-spatial relations in Danish regions. Additionally, she has served as a research manager for the Culture Heritage Research School.
