Biography

Christine Straehle's research focuses on ethics, migration, global justice, conceptions of vulnerability, autonomy, and moral philosophy. She is the editor and co-editor of the volume 'The Political Philosophy of Refuge' published by Cambridge University Press in 2019. Straehle has served as an editor for 'Global Justice' and is a collaborator at the Centre de Recherche en Éthique (CRÉ) at Université de Montréal. Additionally, she is cross-appointed in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Ottawa and has held prestigious fellowships, including the John Stuart Mill Visiting Chair in Social and Political Philosophy at the University of Hamburg during the 2015-2016 academic year. In 2017, she was appointed the Inaugural Director of the Centre for Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, where she held the Chair in Philosophy of Public Affairs in the Faculty of Philosophy.
